Our professional specialist surgeon is Dr David Moss. Originally from Northland, David attended Auckland Medical School before completing surgical training in New Zealand. His strong academic knowledge provided the base for his surgical expertise and reliable services. Subsequently, David worked at the Glasgow Royal Infirmary gaining further experience in Breast and Endocrine Surgery. David returned to his home of New Zealand in 2004, to begin operating as a specialist breast cancer surgeon.
Extensive experience
David prides himself on his wide experience base as a surgeon, and his extensive reputation as a breast cancer surgical expert. David currently works at Middlemore Hospital and in private practice. As one of the senior surgeons in New Zealand's busiest emergency surgical unit, he has treated large numbers of patients with both common and unusual general surgical conditions. The South Auckland Breast Cancer Clinic treats more than 10% of New Zealand’s breast cancer cases, and in this in combination with his private practice makes David one of New Zealand’s busiest Breast cancer Surgeons. He is the Lead Surgeon for the Counties Manukau Breast Screening Program and the Chair of the Surgeons group of Breast Screen Aotearoa.
